Inviting Members to Your Reading Plan
Reading the Bible together is more meaningful and helps keep you accountable. Here's how to invite others to join your plan.
Creating a Group
Before inviting members, you need to create a group:
- Go to Groups in the main navigation
- Click Create New Group
- Give your group a name (e.g., "Smith Family Bible Study")
- Add an optional description
- Click Create Group
Inviting Members
Once you have a group, you can invite members:
Option 1: Share the Group Link
- Open your group page
- Click the Invite Members button
- Copy the shareable link
- Share via email, text, or social media
Anyone with the link can join your group!
Option 2: Direct Email Invitation
If members already have accounts:
- Go to your group settings
- Enter their email address
- Click Send Invitation
- They'll receive an email with a link to join
Assigning a Plan to Your Group
After creating a group:
- Navigate to your reading plan
- Click Share with Group
- Select your group from the dropdown
- Click Assign to Group
All group members will now see the plan and can participate together!
Group Reading Features
When reading as a group, members can:
- See each other's progress - Stay motivated together
- Share answers - Read and discuss each other's reflections
- Reply to answers - Have conversations about the passages
- View completion badges - Celebrate milestones together
Managing Your Group
As the group creator, you can:
- View all members
- Remove members if needed
- Archive the group when finished
- Create multiple groups for different purposes
Privacy Settings
By default, all group members can see: - Who completed each day's reading - Each other's answers to questions - Reply discussions
This encourages accountability and community!
Tips for Group Reading
- Choose a consistent time to read each day
- Discuss answers regularly - weekly meetups or online chats
- Encourage participation - comment on each other's insights
- Be consistent - groups work best when everyone stays engaged
Troubleshooting
Q: Members can't see the plan
A: Make sure you assigned the plan to the group, not just shared the group link.
Q: Can I have multiple groups?
A: Yes! Create as many groups as you need for different study partners.
Q: Can someone be in multiple groups?
A: Absolutely. Members can join and participate in multiple groups simultaneously.
